Exceptional Medical Education

One of the Brigham’s defining hallmarks is our long-standing commitment to medical education. Throughout our history, we’ve provided a rigorous and rewarding training environment for students, residents, and fellows, as well as established clinicians and scientists looking to hone their skills. An investment in the Brigham is an investment in the bright, ambitious trainees dedicated to shaping the future of medicine.

My training at the Brigham was where I learned I could be a multi-passionate clinician-researcher. I continue to find creative ways to combine my interests, such as combatting inequities in translational research and intentionally seeking diverse patient populations for clinical trial enrollment.

Lachelle Weeks, MD, PhD Former Brigham Trainee

As a resident, Lachelle Weeks, MD, PhD, balanced her clinical responsibilities with her passion for racial justice and health equity. During her residency at the Brigham, Weeks established the Internal Medicine Residency Social Justice Committee in 2018, which played an integral role in bringing issues of race, racism, and social justice to the fore at the hospital. She also developed the Community Equity and Justice in Medicine curriculum, which remains part of orientation for internal medicine interns.

Learning the ‘why’ behind what we do allowed me to become a more impactful and well-rounded leader.
